New York Stock Exchange Operator Announces Global Digital Assets Platform Bakkt

The operator of the New York Stock Exchange Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) plans to create a project Bakkt – a global ecosystem for digital money, within which users can pay using crypto currency, sell and buy it. This is reported by the press service of the exchange.

The new project will use Microsoft’s corporate cloud platform. The company also cooperates with a group of developers, including BCG, Starbucks, etc., to create an integrated platform that will allow consumers and institutions to buy, sell, store and spend the crypto currency in a common global network.

It is expected that the Bakkt project will include markets regulated at the federal level along with commercial and consumer applications. Initially, using the platform, it will be possible to sell and convert bitcoins (since this is the most popular and liquid crypto currency) into other currencies. The platform is being prepared for launch in the near future, Bakkt will give details on its website.

“Using a reliable market infrastructure, Bakkt is being developed to help digital currency markets safely and efficiently develop, supporting transaction flows,” the report said.

¬ęBakkt designed for users and institutions can easily buy, sell, store and spend digital assets,” – specified in the message exchange on Twitter.
