His arrival will augment our endeavors to solve the long-standing travel industry challenges. Discover X has the vision to build a new travel ecosystem utilizing blockchain technology that brings new values to the online travel industry such as different cost structure, data flows and incentive mechanisms, to name just a few new possibilities.”
Ip also commented “I would like to share my experiences and knowledge to help the Discover X project team to explore a new travel-booking application by using today’s technology for the hospitality industry. I believe the successful development of the project will benefit not only the customers but also the hotels.”
Discover X is the new blockchain project rolled out by the Korean total accommodation solution provider ‘JIENEM’. JIENEM has been developing and growing its online and offline services catering to the Korean hospitality sector for more than four years with an extensive network of over 1,200 guesthouses and hotels, making the company the leading player in its sector. This year, it has embarked on the new blockchain project to solve in particular the undesirable ‘middleman’ issue encountered by the travel industry.
The new travel platform, when up and running in 2019, will be focusing on working with travel vendors such as lodging providers located primarily within the Asia region, starting with South Korea, Taiwan, and a number of Southeast Asia countries including Singapore and Malaysia. In the long run, this platform envisages partnering with a large variety of travel products and services as well as nurturing an engaging community of its own.
